Who We Are And What We Do
The Int’l Society for Civil Liberties & Rule of Law (Intersociety) is headquartered in Onitsha, Eastern Nigeria and was formed in July 2008 after processes of incorporation at Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission and was issued with legal entity Number: CAC/IT/NO.27239. Intersociety advocates for promotion and advancement of democracy and good governance including leadership accountability, respect for civil liberties and rule of law and provision and enforcement of human rights compliant public security and safety. These are championed through research, investigation, documentation, publications, campaigns including human rights education, local and international coalitions and partnerships, alternative dispute resolution and public interest litigations and petitions, etc. That is, Intersociety investigates and exposes atrocity crimes perpetrated by state actors and non state actors and changes the atrocious status quo of the former, serving or retired, by ensuring that they are locally or internationally held to account including securing legal and posterity justice for the victims. To achieve these, we intensively and extensively make use of voluntary services and contributions of multi-disciplinary experts in Criminology, Law, Security Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Journalism, ICT, among others.
